Seeking Candidates for State Board Vacancies
The Washington State
NAMI board is seeking members interested in serving on the board.
There are at least four positions open for the 2008 election, which
will take place at the annual meeting in June. Any fully paid dues
member is eligible.
President Gordon Bopp
and Secretary Jackie Herum will be leaving the Board. The two other
vacancies resulted from resignations by John Winesdorfer and Larry
Richardson, both for serious health conditions.
A NAMI-WA board
member/officer is elected for a two (2) year term and can be
re-elected to two (2) consecutive two-year terms.
If a board member
resigns or is terminated, the appointee completes the term and must
apply for the position for the next term.
Board member applicants
should submit resumes including information as to education,
experiences, local affiliation and any personal information deemed
necessary and pertinent.
As we all seek strong
candidates for our important leadership positions, please consider
people from your community of friends who have strong skills to
bring to the board. For instance, if there is a person who has
grant-writing skills, an attorney, an accountant, a public-relations
person—all these people would add strength to our board.
